The MTV Video Music Awards is a yearly celebration of the best music videos of the said year. Well, if we had to summarize this year, It was definitely all about Riri and Yonce. Rihanna brought the house down with her 4 stellar performances and snagging the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award while Beyonce left all of us starring at the TV with her 15 minute long performance of her album, Lemonade. It was definitely all about girl power this year!

Speaking off girl power, let us not forget to recognize the lovely ladies who snagged awards and flaunted all their goodies on the red carpet. Every year, you still can’t help but mouth out a little ‘yesss’ for the best dressed ladies of the night. From daring babes and sultry vixens, here are our top picks for the VMAS and how to translate their red carpet pieces, to an outfit for your next event!

Alicia Keys in A Just Cavalli Dress

Alicia Keys looks incredibly bohemian and sweet in her look for the night. She opted for this Bell sleeve peasant dress for the evening and opting for no make-up & a high bun. The dress is a statement itself with its ruby red tropical print.

Feeling Inspired?, Make this dress your own by opting for a different print, a lower neckline but still maintaining this timeless silhouette.

Tinashe in Juan Carlos Obando

Pant suits we’re all the rage for the 2016 VMAs but, Tinashes’ entire Red pant suit would have to be our top pick. The combination of the masculine yet elegant silhouette is something we are all about.

Take cue from Tinashe when creating your next bespoke piece, play with the neckline and while you're at it, throw away that 'choker' trend and opt for some soft silk wrapped around your neck to highlight that beautiful décolletage.

Joan Smalls

Definitely a 70’s Rocker Vibe going on here! Joan paired this burnt peach leather crop top (look at those gorgeous straps! ) with black bell bottoms that zip in the front; Two very classic pieces with a touch of pazzazz.

This sure is a definite inspo-outfit for those late nights out, huh girls? But, why not make it into something work appropriate? Let's lose the zipper and opt for your own custom high waisted bell bottoms hugging you in all the right angles. Elongate the bodice of that stunning crop top and throw on an oversize blazer for that 'Girl Boss' look!

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande

I doubt we’ll see anything bold coming from Ariana but, we adore that all her outfits still scream ‘ARI’. We love how she opted for this Lace crop top and high waisted bell bottoms in all black. She tied the whole look with her signature ponytail & a velvet choker.

If Ariana was your IT girl for the evening & her outfit screamed 'LOVE', there is no doubt we can do something about that. Have a play with the lace and make this crop top extenuate that tiny waist. Why not make it a full on romper or dress? The possibilities are endless.

Hailey Baldwin in Georges Chakra

This is the last of the pant suits, we promise! But, we couldn’t pass up this gorgeous one worn by Hailey Baldwin. Definitely daring with a 20’s twist, Hailey opted for a sheer body suit with feather appliques worn over a black bralette & high waisted bottoms.

I don't know about you but, I want to snag this look for the next event i'm attending. Maybe change the lace and go for something not as sheer; Perfect for the plump girl I am.

Tove Lo in Dion Lee and Reebok Shoes

Pieces such as this always keep us wondering. It’s something so simple yet something so unique & intricate. We loved that she kept it casual with gold sneakers!

Follow Tove Lo's foot steps and create a simple yet unique silhouette, exuding that quality that screams you! Throw on some gold pumps or silver booties and you'll be walking in her footsteps.

We reckon you had your eye on a piece or few pieces during the VMAs but when hitting the mall it can't be hard to take the VMA inspo and translate into an outfit you'll love.  So that's where we come in with one of a kind bespoke pieces! Just give us the item you’ve been gushing over and we’ll work our magic!
