BESPOKE TIPS: Have Your Own Royal Wedding Dress!

On May 19th, millions of people witnessed the spectacle of Meghan Markle’s and Prince Harry’s royal wedding! Now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the couple paved the way for diversity and openness in the royal family. Their wedding was a dream come true for many women who are planning their wedding! From the floral arches, angelic choir, and of course the perfect wedding dress.

Here are our favourite Royal Wedding dresses throughout the years and inspirational designs for your next one-of-a-kind piece with us!

Diana, Princess of Whales

It’s no news that Princess Diana is a worldwide fashion icon. Her wedding to Prince Charles on July 29th 1981 was the epitome of every girl’s princess fantasy. She wore a dress designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel. The dress was a perfect definition of 80s fashion, with the large balloon sleeves, ruffle details, and dramatic train. For a more contemporary approach, we recommend an off-shoulder silhouette to tone down the drama from the balloon sleeves. The dress can still have a ball gown fit for that princess moment!

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Princess Kate was a representation of grace and elegance on her wedding day with Prince William. Their wedding was highly anticipated, and the event pulled out all the stops! Her beautiful dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, it was inspired by Grace Kelly’s dress on her wedding with Prince Rainier of Monaco. The dress had luxurious lace sleeves and a v-neckline. For an inspirational take on it, go for a sweetheart bateau neckline, and more lace details and applique around the bodice and and skirt of the dress.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

Meghan Markle is renowned for breaking the mold of the typical princess. She was pure radiance on her wedding day, and her dress designed by Clare Weight Keller of Givenchy was a testament on how pure simplicity still makes a statement. For a bespoke design of Meghan’s dress, turn the bateau neckline to an elegant off-shoulder. Feel free to add more bridal details such as a tiered hemline, lace detailing, and a ribbon waistband!
