Say what? Your FAQ'S Answered

What do I show you?

Pictures, pictures, pictures girls! (And if you're anything like us your iPhone's probs full of screenshots!)

  • If you know what you want to get made bring pictures, sketches, or if it is inspired by a favourite outfit you already own, please show us.
  • If you have a rough idea of what you want to get made, then show us. For example, a particular colour, the neckline or shape of a garment. Email's the best way to let it all out and show us your style.
  • If you have no idea, we can design something just for you! We'll go through your style profile, and create a mini mood board for you - don't you love the attention?

Just fill in the form on the homepage, or email hey@luciajosephine.com

Getting the sketches was one of my favourite parts of going bespoke. And you get to keep your final design! Which I thought was pretty sweet.

What does 'bespoke' mean?

A word familiar to fellas, we quickly learnt that gals are out of the loop. To put an end to the confusion, no it's not something from Game of Thrones (as someone legitimately asked), it means to produce something from scratch, i.e. new pattern, tailored to your specifications.

What if I don't live in Brisbane?

Don't stress it, we service all throughout Australia through our partnership with mPort. Currently however our service is limited to skirts only for interstate clients. Follow our socials to stay updated as we progressively expand our service!

What do I wear to fittings?

Wear whatever you like! But when we take measurements please be in tight fitting clothing. A pair of leggings with a singlet is great. If you have a particular bra in mind for your custom made piece, you can also wear that. This applies to both our traditional and modern methods of measurements.

Will a sample be made?

Yes for each order a sample will be made in cotton toilé - that basically means lightweight cotton. This is used in haute couture to ensue the garment is tailored to an individuals body, whilst also testing the pattern without ruining expensive fabrics.

Is my garment unique?

Yes, your outfit is unique and tailored for you only. The couturiers and designers who create your dress, can not use your designs internationally either. If another client wants to reproduce your piece, we will ask for your permission first.

Do you have a store?

No, currently we service clients in the comfort of their own home. We will keep you updated on any openings, but bringing our services to you will always be available. If you live interstate, the beauty of technology allows us to catch up over Skype.
