“Asking Lucia Josephine to create a train and veil for my wedding was the best decision I made!!
Nothing was too hard, everything was possible!... I was kept updated on the journey of my items and was able to make changes at every point along the way
Lucia and her team created the wedding outfit that I had only dreamed of and I am so thankful”
— Emily, Bride
Weddings are so meticulously planned – from the flowers, to the food & venue, the list just never seems to end! And of course on top of that list, is finding the perfect wedding dress. With it being in every photo, the dress becomes a part of the ceremony, a receptacle for highlighting each bride’s beautiful personality.
So when our glamorous bride Emily, felt that something was missing with her dress, we were there to complete her look with a custom train and veil - one of the most incredible bridal looks we’ve had the honour of making!!
“The train was absolute perfection. Look at it in every pic, it just kept 100% perfect form. That one of me at the alter- no one touched it! It remained perfect walking down the whole aisle!”
— Emily, Bride
Emily definitely wanted to wow the crowd – choosing a 7 foot long train, and cathedral length veil to match the historical architecture of The Cathedral of St Stephen (Brisbane). With our bespoke specialty, we decided to add beadwork around the waist, in an art deco-inspired design to complement the line-work on her beaded wedding dress by Karen Willis Holmes.
BEHIND THE SEAMS
Part of the bespoke experience is the process of fittings, so after we developed Emily’s mood board & inspiration, we scheduled fittings and prepared fabric swatches to ensure we complimented the ivory shade of her dress. Throughout we kept Emily up-to-date with progress photos via her exclusive log-in - which is a staple when you go bespoke with Lucia Josephine.
We first gave Emily a sample of her train and veil to help her visualise the length and beadwork - making sure it lived up to Emily’s gorgeously extravagant personality, and grand vision that she had in mind for her entrance!
All in all the train and veil took over 200 hours to complete! One strip of beadwork took an entire hour to hand sew! The beads and crystals were sourced from Japan, giving the train and veil that added texture and glam.
Emily could not have looked more beautiful on her wedding day! And we knew we had done our job when she said
“The train was absolute perfection… It’s everything I ever ever dreamed!”
Part of what we do at Lucia Josephine is turn your dreams into reality, and we are so grateful to be apart of this beautiful brides incredibly glamorous day!
