CHAPTER I 'THE RENASCENCE'

For centuries, a dominant patriarchal society has cast a towering shadow over the contributions of women amongst many varying fields of human endeavour. Mothers, scientists, scholars, activists, inventors and innovators.

With today's increasingly homogenised expressions of beauty, 'Renascence' seeks to awaken more unassuming concepts of allure, and artfully infuses the opulence of the late 1800s with the sharp tailoring of the early 1900s. This collection is a celebration of true beauty, refocusing our attention to detail in a world oversaturated with superficiality. Inspired by the defiant heroines of the last centuries, we pose the question, what is it to be desired?

More than a collection. This is the resurrection of an ideal. This is, the Renascence.
