Heritage is at the heart of this house as renowned bridal designer Pina Fiorenza joins Lucia Josephine, after an illustrious 30-year career with her eponymous label.
The culmination of an existing collaborative endeavour expands to combine years of experience, creative evolution, and endless possibilities in the bridal space.
IN CONVERSATION WITH LUCIA:"Pina & I met a few times at fashion events and became immediately obsessed with each other (being Aquarians); it wasn't too long before we started working together, getting opinions on pieces. It was all very organic.
Those who know us, know we drive each other crazy perfecting the house codes of LJ, whether it be a corset or choosing the perfect blend of fabrics for a particular look.
If we're not together we are constantly texting each other all things fashion.”
Once an idea has been born, the LJ design process typically starts with draping before handcrafting toile samples for review (each worn and tested personally) before the master pattern is created.
Often pieces are draped and cut on the body itself, an ode to couture craftsmanship often forgotten in this fast-paced fashion churn.
Built from a sampling room in Manila, Lucia Josephine started her label. The gap in the market for accessible occassion-wear leading her inspiration.

IN CONVERSATION WITH LUCIA:"Starting out in Manila, Philippines (where I owe half of my heritage), I worked so hard to handpick the most talented team. I didn't have a traditional start to fashion, and I believe drive and connection allow anyone to learn.
In 2018 I was invited to showcase at Manila Fashion Week and was the first Australian designer to do so. This was an incredible turning point for myself and the label, as it allowed an opportunity to showcase the pure identity and integrity of Lucia Josephine, as the demand was growing for our evening wear pieces.
To this day I am so blessed to work closely with an incredible team (now with local production based in Brisbane, after covid) who are masters at their craft, and second to none in the industry.
A true honour to take the next chapter in the label’s journey, bridal."
