THE MAKING OF CHAPTER I - RENASCENCE

With the launch of our latest collections, we'd like to look back and acknowledge the foundations on which we've build the Lucia Josephine brand.

Enjoy this raw and honest account detailing the makings of Chapter I.

The Look Book.

After almost 3 months of production, we were finally able to get things underway with our look book shoot!

We wanted to start our first fashion show off with a bang. We’re meticulous when it comes to details, so it’s no surprises that we planned the look book photoshoot to a tee - from the hair and make-up pegs, set design, and selection of models.

During the shoot our model Graciela gave demure poses for The Esther, chic touches to The Margarete, and edgy yet regal for The Zelda; it was so exciting for the LJ Team to see the designs come to life!

Each design has a certain period of history in mind, they are named after significant women, specifically those who were not credited for their works solely because they were discriminated by their gender. Our vision was to rebirth them into these carefully thought-out designs – hence why the collection is aptly named The Renascence.

After the successful photoshoot, the countdown began! We only had one week for model fittings, alterations and finishing's + printing out the look book. Getting the right fit has always been one of our specialties, so the looks were tailor-fitted to our respective models.

On October 16th 2018 Lucia Josephine prepared to hold it’s first show on the 9th Season of Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival. The day was spent watching dress rehearsals and adding final touches to our finale dress, The Jocelyn Bell. The LJ team are pictured below.

The backstage experience was exhilarating to say the least, with models going left and right. We only had approximately 8 minutes for changing meaning that with our collection being so extremely detailed, the change times were short. Despite the rush, it was a successful show.

The day after the show left us at a dream-like state, gaining immediate press from Preview, Preen, Business World and more. Filipina starlet Loisa Andalio going on to wear The Zelda for a local movie awards show days after.
